The Mission
What exactly does Hit Me Helpers Foundation do? +
Hit Me Helpers Foundation is a Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on emergency medical identification, rider safety, and emergency contact accessibility. Through scannable emergency QR profiles and rider safety resources, we help make critical emergency information accessible to first responders and loved ones when communication may not be possible.
Why can't I just use the "Medical ID" on my phone? +
Phones are often damaged, thrown, locked, or inaccessible during serious accidents. A Hit Me Helpers QR identifier is designed to remain visible and accessible during emergencies, helping first responders quickly locate important information without requiring a password or unlocked device.
Cost & Nonprofit Status
How much does a safety kit cost? +
As a community-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is to make emergency identification resources accessible to riders. Donations and sponsorship support help fund safety kits, emergency identification technology, and rider safety initiatives.
Data & Privacy
Is my personal information secure? +
Yes. Users maintain control over the information included in their emergency profile. Profile information is stored securely and can be updated or deactivated at any time. Access is designed to provide emergency visibility while supporting user privacy and account control.
What kind of information is stored? +
Emergency profiles may include emergency contacts, allergies, medications, medical conditions, blood type information, and other emergency details selected by the user. The QR identifier acts as a secure access point to the user's emergency profile.
Can I update my information later? +
Absolutely. Users can log in to their account dashboard at any time to update emergency contacts, medications, allergies, or other profile information.
Will emergency contacts receive notifications? +
Users may optionally add emergency contacts to their profile. Authorized emergency contacts may receive SMS notifications if a QR profile associated with that individual is scanned during an emergency or safety-related event.
How do text alerts work? +
Users may opt in to receive SMS notifications related to account activity, support requests, and emergency QR profile scan alerts. Authorized emergency contacts may also receive SMS notifications if a QR profile associated with that individual is scanned during an emergency or safety-related event. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.
Can parents create profiles for children? +
Yes. Parents and legal guardians may create and manage secondary emergency profiles for children under a parent or guardian account. Parents and guardians control the emergency information associated with child profiles and may update or deactivate those profiles at any time.
Logistics & In The Field
Where is the best place to place my QR sticker? +
We recommend placing the QR identifier on the back-left or back-right side of a helmet or another visible location where emergency personnel can easily identify it during emergencies.
What do first responders see when they scan the code? +
First responders can access a read-only emergency profile containing emergency contact information, medical alerts, and other emergency details selected by the user. The system is designed to be mobile-friendly and accessible during emergency situations.
