How Hit Me Helpers Foundation collects, uses, and protects information.

Hit Me Helpers Foundation is a Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on emergency medical identification, emergency contact accessibility, and rider safety initiatives. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information provided through our website, emergency identification platform, contact forms, and SMS notification services.

Information We Collect

We may collect information that users voluntarily provide, including name, email address, phone number, emergency contact information, emergency profile details, support requests, and information submitted through website forms or account registration.

Emergency profile information may include details such as allergies, medications, medical conditions, blood type, emergency contacts, and other information selected by the user for emergency identification purposes.

Parents or legal guardians may create and manage secondary user profiles for their children under the parent or guardian account. These secondary profiles may include emergency identification information such as the child’s name, emergency contacts, allergies, medications, medical conditions, and other information selected by the parent or guardian for emergency access purposes.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide emergency identification services, support user accounts, respond to inquiries, send account-related notifications, deliver emergency QR profile scan alerts, and communicate with users or authorized emergency contacts about services connected to Hit Me Helpers Foundation.

Emergency contacts designated by a user may receive SMS notifications if a QR profile associated with that individual is scanned during an emergency or safety-related event.

SMS Notifications

By providing a mobile number and submitting a registration, support, contact, or emergency profile form, users consent to receive SMS notifications from Hit Me Helpers Foundation related to emergency QR profile activity, support responses, account notifications, and service-related updates.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance.

Users submitting emergency contact information confirm they have permission to provide that contact information for emergency notification purposes.

Hit Me Helpers Foundation does not use SMS notifications for unsolicited marketing messages or third-party advertising.

Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Additional information about SMS notifications is available on our Text Alerts page and our Terms & Conditions page.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only as necessary to operate our emergency identification services, support emergency contact notifications, process SMS communications, maintain platform functionality, comply with legal obligations, or support emergency access features selected by the user.

Emergency profile information may be accessible to individuals who scan a user’s QR identifier, depending on the information the user chooses to include in their profile.

User Control

Users may update, correct, or deactivate their emergency profile information through their account. Users may also request assistance by contacting Hit Me Helpers Foundation.

Parents or legal guardians who create secondary profiles for children are responsible for managing, updating, and deactivating those profiles. A parent or legal guardian may update or remove a child’s emergency profile information through the managing account or by contacting Hit Me Helpers Foundation for assistance.

SMS recipients may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information submitted through our services. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect user information and limit access to appropriate service-related purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Hit Me Helpers Foundation services may allow a parent or legal guardian to create and manage an emergency identification profile for their child. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts without parent or guardian involvement.

Information for a child’s secondary profile is provided and managed by the parent or legal guardian for emergency identification purposes. Parents or legal guardians may update, correct, or deactivate a child’s profile information at any time.
